Toad on the Go is another book following Toad, the tow truck driver. It is in the same world as Towed by Toad, and shares the same (very positive) characteristics: bright colorful images, animal characters who are recognizable both as animals and as human types, strong, simple emotions, and a single critical event.
In this case, Toad, who has been racing around helping others by towing their cars to his father’s repair shop, gets in an accident himself. He, like book creator Jashar Awan, is hard on himself for making a mistake…but Toad’s dad helps him out, and there are lessons about accepting accidents and responsibility–and fun scenes of working on the car.
This would be a fun one to read out loud.
