Yesterday I wrote about the recent and wonderful Cat Nap by Brian Lies.
The final pages of the book were so inviting and inclusive, designed to help readers understand where the art came from, that I got curious. Surely, I thought, a creator so successfully welcoming has videos out there.
And I was right. Read and linger over Cat Nap . Then head over to YouTube and watch his brief video Making the Mblo Portrait Mask SD 480p. It’s only 3 minutes long, and does a good job of showing how one key image, with two key components, was created. The images on the page look so rich because they are three dimensional multimedia that integrate both hand and heart.
Go watch.
