Books on Bikes is a 2025 picture book by F. Isabel Campoy (Author), Theresa Howell (Author), Brizida Magro (Illustrator). It is a pleasant, accessible picture book with a cluster of good messages.

The illustrations are gentle and accessible, and the words well-paced throughout the book. The story is simple, but builds to multiple larger meanings. Main character Lía loves her community, riding her bike, and, especially, reading. When the people around her want books but don’t have easy access to them, she becomes a book biker, peddling her way around to share books with others.

She’s inspired by other book bikers, but also by other young activists such as Xiye Bastida and Greta Thunberg.

Things come a little too easily for this to be a great book, but it is an enjoyable one, and it shows the link between impulses in the heart and changing the world, and shows kids they can act.
