Karen Katz’s 2011 picture book Babies on the Bus has a very simple premise: rework the children’s song “The Wheels on the Bus” to include babies.
The first few pages keep the lyrics from the original, augmented by illustrations that are bright, bold, and big. On those pages, the babies are seen in the windows of the bus. Soon after that, the babies are introduced into the lyrics.
This is pleasant enough, and a child who already likes The Wheels on the Bus” is likely to like this too, and enjoy being included.
It is not much more than that, though: a pleasant variation for purposes of inclusion (or market).
