If you want a librarian to like you, check out “R” is for Research. (Mine stopped checking out my books to look over, and gently caress, this book.)
“R” is for Research is–wait for it–an introduction to research that is also an alphabet book AND a rhyming book. Author Toni Buzzeo starts with “A” for assignment, and ends with “Z” for zowie, or more accurately, “ZOWIE!” Along the way, Buzzeo guides young readers through basic concepts in research, covering sources and processes. Nicole Wong’s illustrations are gentle, and gently humorous, and, while this won’t be anyone’s favorite book of all time, the result is actually close to perfect for what it is trying to do.
I suggest it.
